Thank you for contacting me about the call for a nationally televised emergency briefing on the climate and nature crisis.
I am grateful to you for raising this important initiative, and I wanted to let you know that I have now signed the pledge in support of this proposal. In doing so, I have formally added my name to the parliamentary call for a televised emergency briefing, alongside others who believe the public should be better informed about these critical challenges.
I agree that climate change and biodiversity loss present profound and growing risks to our communities, economy, and national security. It is vital that the public has access to clear, evidence-based information about these challenges, particularly at a time when misinformation can too easily shape public debate.
A televised briefing of the kind proposed would be an important step in ensuring people are properly informed about the scale of the risks we face, why they matter for everyday life, and how we can respond collectively as a society. Improving public understanding is essential if we are to build the consensus and resilience needed to address the climate and nature crisis effectively.
