After the National Emergency Briefing held in Westminster on 27 November 2025 a film was released in April 2026 called People’s Emergency Briefing:
“This new film from the National Emergency Briefing sets out the risks facing the nation – and the credible, positive responses available – in a clear and accessible account designed for screenings in communities across the UK.”

An objective of the film is to get viewers to contact their MP to apply pressure on the Government to stage a televised emergency briefing.

Subsequently an Early Day Motion entitled National Emergency Briefing EDM (Early Day Motion)93 was tabled on 14 May 2026. As of 12 July 2026 94 of 650 MPs has signed it.
Including Chichester MP Jess Brown-Fuller MP. But she is only one of 2 MPs, out of 9, in West Sussex to have done so, and 1 of 3 MPs to have signed up to the Parliamentary Call:

The situation in East Sussex is reversed, 3 of the 9 MPs have signed the EDM, but only 2 have signed up to the Parliamentary Call:

And individuals can add their voice to “Hold a UK-wide briefing on climate and nature risks” by signing a Parliamentary Petition created by Christopher Packham. This petition has now got more than 10,000 signatures meaning that government will respond to it. Which it has: Government response to Hold a UK-wide briefing on climate and nature risks Petition. And this is the NEB’s response to the Government response. If this petition gets 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate in Parliament. This is 154 signatures per constituency! Please encourage everyone to sign this petition.
It is certainly true that actions by individuals would be much easier if there was systemic change to make the least impactful choices more obvious. For example solar panels have been around for decades – Jimmy Carter put some on the White House when he was president in the 1970s! But, in the UK, until the Government made the choice more economical with Feed-in Tariffs, they were not readily adopted. However, consider the following actions you can do:
