Dear Jess,
I am writing as the leader of the Chichester Climate Action Network (ChiCAN), a group within Transition Chichester.
ChiCAN organised a screening on the 16th April of “The People’s Emergency Briefing”, at the Assembly Rooms, Chichester. The film outlined the scale and urgency of climate-related risks affecting all of us. Around 100 people attended and in the post-film discussion the audience were keen that we write to you to gain your support for more screenings of the film.
Accordingly ChiCAN asks that you sponsor or support a screening of this film in Parliament, and invite fellow MPs to attend? We believe this could help build wider awareness and informed discussion across all parties.
We very much support the aim of the promoters of the film which is asking that it also be shown on prime time TV and we hope that you and a large number of MPs will also press for this.
On a connected matter, ChiCAN would like to invite you to speak to Transition Chichester supporters some time in 2026 about your party’s policies and priorities on how the country should adapt to a changing climate. It would be very useful if we could meet at one of your surgeries to discuss both matters and please let me know what dates are possible in the near future.
Kind Regards,
XXX
