Food for Friends offers a kitchen where refugees come together with volunteers, to show how the food from their culture is cooked. Cook and eat together, relax and share. Integration into the wider community, becoming friends, speaking in English and in your own language(s) as required.
We create community resilience by welcoming the latest incomers into our city to share food culture. We have teamed up with a local church to use their hall and kitchen. For details of the venue in north Chichester please speak with or text Jenny on 07879 263 402.
Volunteer help needed
Befriending and listening. Cooking, cleaning and washing up, also eating in company and sharing culture. Playing with toddlers and putting toys away. You will need a new DBS check to work on this project.
Language and interpretation skills especially in Dari (& Farsi), Pashto & Arabic would be welcome.
