After the National Emergency Briefing held in Westminster on 27 November 2025 a film was released in April 2026 called People’s Emergency Briefing:
“This new film from the National Emergency Briefing sets out the risks facing the nation – and the credible, positive responses available – in a clear and accessible account designed for screenings in communities across the UK.”
An objective of the film is to get viewers to contact their MP to apply pressure on the Government to stage a televised emergency briefing. Subsequently an Early Day Motion entitled National Emergency Briefing EDM (Early Day Motion)93 was tabled on 14 May 2026. As of 31 May 2026 66 of 650 MPs has signed it.

And individuals can add their voice to “Hold a UK-wide briefing on climate and nature risks” by signing a Parliamentary Petition created by Christopher Packham.
It is certainly true that actions by individuals would be much easier if there was systemic change to make the least impactful choices more obvious. For example solar panels have been around for decades – Jimmy Carter put some on the White House when he was president in the 1970s! But, until the Government made the choice more economical with Feed-in Tariffs, they were not readily adopted. However, consider the following actions you can do:
