Grow Chichester

Currently in the UK 88% of our fruit is imported and 60% of our vegetables, here at Transition Chichester we don’t believe it has to be this way. We have a vision of seeing community gardens and orchards across the city, and veggie patches in the most interesting of places, brightening up streets and neighbourhoods, and providing residents with free healthy food only minutes from their door.

Grow Chichester projects include:

Community Orchards, our first 30 tree community orchard was planted in Oaklands Park in 2011, soon followed by a second planted in Whyke in November 2013 off Exton Rd, South Chichester PO19 8BS

Community Garden, We have two community gardens, one in Oaklands Park and the other in the Bishops Palace Garden. Regular gardening sessions are held in both gardens throughout the summer months and continue throughout the year in the Bishop’s Palace Garden.

All are welcome at these sessions, whether you are a novice or a seasoned gardener. You can find the times of the sessions on the website calendar.
