POSTPONED – Whyke Community Orchard – Orchard day

The Orchard day is a 2 til 4.30 event on the Whyke Community Orchard off Exton Road, PO19 8FT, on Saturday 20th October.

We are celebrating the fruitfulness of the autumn this year, with roast chestnuts and mulled apple juice. We have two new benches and a new notice board, and new volunteers.

We’re going to have the bench sat on officially, and declared ‘well set’ for all to be seated.

We are inviting the new residents of the houses by the orchard to join us, and to mark the seasonal changes in the orchard.

Local residents, friends and Transition Chichester members are also cordially invited to bob for apples, make bug hotels, hear a talk on bumblebees and walk the orchard. Children should be accompanied, and all should be well shod, as the orchard has a woodchip path with wooden edges and grass bounding the path.
No charge for entry, all welcome but please rsvp to Jenny jenny.music@lycos.com so we have enough mugs for the mulled apple.
