Transition is back!
We haven’t been able to hold our regular activities during these months of lockdown, but that hasn’t stopped us from making plans about what we can do once we are able to meet again. As soon as we can – in May – TC is launching a new initiative.
We’ve dreamed for years of having a venue where we can bring all our activities together and make a real impact in the city. As we recover from the blow COVID has dealt our community, activities like Swap Shop and Repair Café can play a useful role in bringing people together after the long period of isolation and addressing need.
So – starting on Saturday May 22, TC will hire the Newell Centre twice a month on the first and third Saturdays from 11.00 – 4.00 to hold regular swaps and repair sessions. We’ll be outside at first, but by July, all being well, we’ll be able to hold sessions inside too.
We’re looking to join with other environmental groups so we can put on a really interesting programme of activities alongside swaps and repairs, such as energy advice, yoga, bread baking, art workshops, children’s activities – and as the weather grows colder, films and talks. There will be plenty of tea, coffee, cakes and chat too.
The possibilities are endless so we hope you’ll join us on this journey.
