Hearts and Minds

Hearts and Minds meets once each month, please see TC Calendar for dates and a contact number. You can also contact us at handm@transitionchichester.org.

We meet at different members homes on a rotating basis. We are concerned with How we Feel as well as What we Do about the inevitability of change.
At the moment we are looking at the work of Joanna Macey, while exploring ways of being in our meetings that offer support and safe space.
We can contribute to and create events in a creative, earth centred and joyful way.
We are looking at how to be a presence at the IAMJOY Festival in August and welcome you to join in.

While working on a mission statement for the group, we offer our individual words on what the Transition Chichester HEARTS AND MINDS GROUP means to each of us?
It reinforces our connection to all living things.
It is a place to share support and find the inspiration and courage we need to embrace change.
It helps me through when I am feeling afraid and alarmed because the world I know is at risk. It’s about a connection to all that is. If you can see and hear and feel the natural world, you can’t give up hope.
It's a place of deeper and more meaningful connection, where I feel inspired and supported by others in my growth and learning.
Unity. The roots of a tree go deep into the rich earth and drink from a huge heart and all the creatures live in the tree. We are many branches one trunk, roots give us stability, from this we manifest. If the earth disappears it will come out in another place, so I don’t despair.
A place where I have met heart centred people who have left their mark. People come; leave an impression and go. Working as a unit I don’t feel doom and gloom. It’s a cycle of life – something goes, something else will thrive.
I have been heavy hearted. Heart of mind: mind of heart. I hope heart will lead mind in decision-making.

This is where we have arrived at to date with our Mission Statement.
“We recognise our infinite connection with the Earth and with all beings. We offer support, encourage hope and seek to creatively navigate despair. We seek joy and inspiration through our connection as we embrace inevitable change.”
