Selsey Open Gardens - Sunday 30th May 2010

The Selsey Gardens Open Day on 30th May was a fantastic event and luckily took place on the only sunny day of the Bank Holiday!

Visitors began arriving in Selsey from 6.00am to plan their route. The town was really buzzing with many people managing to get round to all 18 gardens. It was great to see lots of people walking and cycling round sustained by tea and cake which was on sale, along with plants.

The gardens looked amazing after all the preparation by the owners. A display of fossils, collected from local beaches was popular as was the beautiful quilts made by the Selsey Quilters. The local Art and Photographic Exhibition was an inspiration to many.
A great day was had by garden owners and visitors alike. The event raised an amazing £3500 to be equally divided between Manhood Wildlife and Heritage Group and St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Thanks to all those who supported this event, in so many different ways.
